Annie's pregnancy diary 2018

02 Jan 2018
It will soon be 6 months since Annie's last season so preparations are in hand. Although her last eye test was only in April 2017, meaning it will still be in date at the time the litter is likely to be due, I have booked her in for a new eye test next week. I have also ordered the progesterone testing kits, so I'll be able to pinpoint the optimum time for mating.
08 Jan 2018
Another clear eye test for Annie. The clock's ticking now for her season to start.
11 Jan 2018
Annie's season has started. I'll be watching her body language for indications of when to start progesterone testing.
15 Jan 2018
Annie's booked in at the vets for next Monday, when she'll have a blood sample taken for progesterone testing and also have her first herpes vaccination. If you're wondering how it can affect a bitch and her puppies have a look at this link
22 Jan 2018
I decided to delay the progesterone testing until tomorrow. I may even delay it until Wednesday if I think she's not ready. You know the saying about a watched kettle . . . . . . . . . . . .
23 Jan 2013
Annie has been for her herpes vaccination and had a blood sample tested for the progesterone level. The plan is to take her to be mated on Friday morning.
26 Jan 2018
The deed has been done. We had an uneventful journey over to Cheshire and Ozzie. There was a good mating with a 20 minutes tie so hopefully there will be puppies on the way. I'll get Annie scanned at around 33-35 days and that will hopefully confirm that there will be puppies due at the end of March.
12 Feb 2018
Annie's scan is booked for the morning of Wed 28 Feb.
27 Feb 2018
Annie's scan has had to be put back until Sat 3 March because of the bad weather.
03 March 2018
There are definitely puppies on the way. The 3 blobs in the photo are 3 of the puppies.
