Fri 5 Aug
Day 3
Initially 4 bitches and 3 dogs, unfortunately one of the dog puppies didn't make it through the first night. This photo is of the remaining 6, all weighing just over or under 1lb (0.45kgs) in weight.
Day 3
A close-up, just look at those cute little noses.
Sat 6 Aug
Day 4
"Brothers make such good pillows."
Mon 7 Aug
Day 6
The puppies are all growing quickly and whilst they probably still look like little tots to you, to me they seem enormous compared with when they born.
" You got that bloomin' camera out again?"

Tues 9 Aug
Day 7
Sporting new ID collars I made this afternoon (with a little improvisation) they're having a feed after being weighed.
Wed 8 Aug
1 week old
How quickly the last week has passed. The next week there'll be even more changes as the puppies eyes and ear canals start to open.
Not a very elegant pose young lady!
I cut the puppies' nails this evening. They're easy to cut and it's simpler to use ordinary nail scissors rather than the special dog nail clippers. A quick buff with the nail file to smooth off any sharp edges and their manicure was done.
At this age they rely on Poppy licking them to stimulate peeing an pooing. The squeaking they made while I trimmed their nails attracted Poppy's attention so she came over to lick them. Thank you Poppy, I had very wet legs when you'd done.

What a difference a few days make. On Tuesday the ID collars I'd used for the last litter were still too big, today they fit!
Sat 13 Aug
The puppies doing their very own version of the Manx flag.

Mon 15 Aug
The puppies' eyes are starting to open so no photos for a few days unless they're asleep. They're also starting to get up on their feet rather than doing the commando crawl they've done since birth.
Thurs 18 Aug
Another video for you watch. What a noisy pair are in the foreground, just imagine what it's like when they all get going.
Fri 19 Aug
Today was worming day. My finger ends are a little pink but other than that most of the liquid went in the puppies' mouths. I suspect it won't be quite so easy when I do it again in 2 weeks time!
Their eyes are fully open and they're responding to my voice. Little 'Miss yellow collar' is by far the fastest and most steady on her feet at the moment, maybe that's because she hasn't quite as much weight to move around as the others. All 6 puppies now weigh at least 3 x their birth weight

Mon 22 Aug
The puppies are well and truly up on their feet now as you can see in this clip
Wed 24 Aug
3 weeks old today and here they are tucking into 'proper' food. They're getting very vocal, starting to play with each other and I've had to raise the opening on the whelping box to stop them escaping.
Fri 26 Aug
Big sister and little sister nose to nose with Will having a sniff at the other end (knowing Will it had to be that way round, didn't it).
'Little Miss Orange Collar 2011' - with 'Little Miss Orange Collar 2009'.
Watch the puppies trying out the new teabag bedding - and listen to what a lot they had to say about it!
Tues 30 Aug
Meal time - their first meal from separate bowls.
This was built so that the puppies will have some shade from the sunshine when they finally go out in the garden - wishful thinking, judging by the recent weather an ark would have been more appropriate. Taff the cat decided he'd give it a test drive first.
Fri 2 Sept
"It's not just brothers that make good pillows, sisters do too."
There's been a massive move round in the house this afternoon. After steam cleaning the dining room floor and moving all the dog beds round, I decided to move the whelping box in there. Miss Purple Collar had already discovered how to get out of the whelping box this morning so it's probably better for any future escapees to be onto vinyl rather than carpet.

Sun 4 Sept
WATCH big sister Martha giving her younger sisters a wash and Miss Yellow Collar returning the favour.
Tues 6 Sept
Youngest grandson Luca having his toes tickled by one of the boys.
"Martha, you might be a big girl now, but you're still my baby". Poppy giving Martha's ears a good clean.
Thurs 15 Sept
The puppies had their experience of grass today. Here are a few photos and a video
Sat 24 Sept
THE MISTER MAN TOY GETS IT- a last video of all the puppies together, before Madison leaves for her new home later today.
Tues 27 Sept
I can't believe how quickly the weeks have flown by and that tomorrow the puppies will be 8 weeks old. This photo is of Lily (left) and Ned (right) taken this morning. The puppies are always on the move and it's a rare occasion to get a couple of them sitting and posing so nicely.
Thurs 29 Sept
Sam, Lily and Lula out in the garden.
Millie looking out of the little hut, with Ned about to whisper in her ear.
What strange weather we're having, a week ago there were gale force winds and torrential rain, today the sun's cracking the flags. The puppies are able to spend most of the day outside and love it.
It's been a busy week. The puppies had their ID tattoos done on Tuesday evening and it was lovely to see Madison back here, for hers doing. She sounds to have settled in very well at her new home and I hope to see more of her in the coming months. Yesterday Ned, Lula and Millie had their first injections at the vets. They were very well behaved and there wasn't a squeak out of them.
This weekend Sam and Lily will leave for their new homes so there's going to be a noticeable difference. Millie and Lula are staying a little longer, with Millie eventually going to live in Scotland and Lula going down to Sutton Coldfield to live with her big brother Marley (the dog puppy from Poppy's first litter).
Sat 8 Oct
And then there were three. It should have seemed much quieter this week, with there only being 3 puppies left, but what they lack in numbers, they make up with exuberance and volume! Toilet training is a bit hit and miss, Ned seems to have got it cracked but the girls are taking a little longer. They've each been on the school run with me. I made a make-shift sling out of one of my scarves to help support them when I was carrying them. Nevertheless, I'm sure they doubled in weight by the time we got back to the car.
Wed 12 Oct
And then there were two. Ned and Lula trying to persuade me to let them out of the pen. Don't be fooled by those innocent looking faces, you're looking at double trouble!
Thurs 20 Oct
The 'dynamic duo' (Lula at the front, Ned behind) looking for mischief.
'I tought I taw a puddy tat'
Ned and Lula keeping a close eye on Taf the cat.
Sun 23 Oct - and then there was one.
The start of a new day and a new chapter in the lives of the puppies from this litter. Yesterday Lula went to her new home, leaving just my boy Ned here. Ned's training will now start in earnest, along with his exploration of the big wild world.
